Investment Analyst | Associate (Generalist)

For a Munich-based entrepreneurial single family office at an early stage of its development, we are seeking a high-potential Investment Analyst / Associate (Generalist) to support the build-out of a globally diversified, cross-asset investment strategy. The position combines strategic portfolio work with hands on investment execution across public and private markets in a long-term capital partnership environment. The CEO / CIO is an experienced family officer and former top-tier banker with an outstanding network across the financial industry, offering you the opportunity to benefit from a well-established and globally connected investment approach.  

Profile

  • 2–4 years of relevant top-tier professional experience in: 
    • Investment Banking (Capital Markets, M&A, ECM/DCM, Leveraged Finance) 
    • Strategy Consulting 
    • Private Equity / Asset Management (incl. Fund of Funds and Advisors) 
  • Excellent analytical and conceptual thinking abilities 
  • Strong commercial judgement and interest in investments, particular in alternative investments (private markets and hedge funds) 
  • High attention to detail combined with the ability to think strategically 
  • Fluency in German and English (both written and spoken) 
  • International exposure (work or study abroad) is a strong plus 
  • Strong interpersonal skillset and talent in building strong relationships 
  • Highest level of integrity, discretion and reliability 
  • Ability to work independently in a lean structure 
  • Motivation to grow within the organization and assume increasing responsibility over time 

Tasks

  • Supporting manager selection processes and the preparation of investment memoranda (e.g. for private equity funds, hedge funds, public market strategies). 
  • Monitoring and analyzing the existing portfolio, including performance attribution and risk assessment.  
  • Participation in Portfolio Update Calls with General Partners. 
  • Support for developing and updating the internal fund pipeline, including market mapping and participation in pipeline calls with advisors and other allocators.  
  • Contributing to investment decision making in weekly internal investment committee meetings and quarterly macro meetings.  
  • Maintaining and expanding relationships with international fund managers, advisors and allocators
